New Jeans creator Min Hee-jin has accused HYBE of threatening her stylist during an ‘illegal audit’ of financial irregularities at sub-label ADOR. However, HYBE says Min is lying again and twisting the truth. And before anybody can take a close look at what’s in the box, Min has thrown out another shiny object: the parents of New Jeans members talking to the media over their discontent with HYBE over how their children are being treated.
Notice how recounting the antics of Min Hee-jin takes time and focus away from the substantive claims against her. In this case, a contracted employee (ADOR’s head stylist) admitted to taking hundreds of thousands of dollars in client money and depositing it into her own private account. HYBE responsibly took action to conduct an internal audit before escalating the situation, but Min Hee-jin has stepped in to throw accusations back at HYBE to confuse the public.
