Toxic K-pop Fandoms Need to Be More Demure. More Mindful.

BTS SUGA's terrible ordeal with police and prosecution over a mishap with his scooter has come to an end. Prosecutors fast-tracked his case and issued a summary indictment, which means he will just pay a fine of 15 million won ($12,000) for driving an electric scooter under the influence. It's an anticlimactic ending for the hype generated around this so-called 'controversy'. But it seems to be an appropriate resolution to the actual situation.

However, do toxic K-pop fandoms need to take a moment of reflection? Is there a case to be made for more demure and mindful behavior? Instead of trying to tear down celebrities under the guise of 'fairness', should they be called out as netizens who bully others online?
