First Lady Fashion Scandal
Outgoing First Lady of South Korea Kim Jeong-sook has been accused of dipping into taxpayer funds to buy five years worth of high-class fashions during her time in the Blue House. President Moon's officials deny the allegations and say all of her fabulous outfits were bought with her own money. But is there a bigger political game at stake where her Prada is just a pawn?
The funds supposedly come from the shadowy "Special Activities Fund" provided by the National Intelligence Service (Korea's version of the CIA). Normally meant to pay for 'intelligence' activities, the outlays are never audited or reviewed by the public because of 'national security'. But previous scandals have exposed embezzlement and have even sent a president to jail along with numerous NIS chiefs!
Is another political revenge offing in the works?
