The same generation who was in their teens during the Sewol Ferry disaster grew up to be the young adults mostly struck down by last weekend's Halloween crowd crush tragedy in Seoul, South Korea. With officials pointing the fingers at each other over who's to blame, how does this generation grapple with the reality that no one is coming to save them?

Even though improvements to public safety were promised in the aftermath of the ferry sinking, the 'blind spots' that led to an unregulated crowd proved that South Korea's leadership has failed its younger generation yet again.

Through the escalating horror, there did emerge a few heroes who pulled their fellow peers to safety. But was it too little too late? And how will the nation move forward?
