Karma Hits Hard! British Pop Icons Accuse K-pop Group of Plagiarism

British jazz funk band Shakatak wants New Jeans to pay up for ripping off their 1982 song 'Easier Said Than Done' to create the 2024 comeback single 'Bubble Gum'. Forget about all the claims of legitimate 'sampling'. Shakatak's parent company, Wise Music Group, says 'Bubble Gum' is nowhere to be found on any official registrations of sample licensing.

ADOR, which is now fully controlled by HYBE, has requested additional support documentation to the claims. ADOR has thus far denied any improper usage of musical similarities between the two songs. However, is this a golden opportunity for HYBE to cut ties with Min Hee-jin based on her contract stipulations? In any event, it sure looks like karma didn't forget who's still on the 16th floor!
