All of Us Are Dead Reaction: How the K-Zombie Genre Makes Us Smarter

The top worldwide Netflix series is "All of Us Are Dead". Presented in the Korean zombie genre, this 12-episode masterpiece cleverly hooks the viewer into a non-stop series of action while making us stop and think hard about the society we live in. Zombie apocalypses tend to break down social systems and force us to create a new reality that's best for the common good. In this manner, Korean zombie entertainment goes deep. Not only have Koreans mastered the technical production value of the zombie genre, the writers are going full force with the limitless potential for social commentary.

This reaction video focuses on several motifs that serve as metaphors to real-life contemporary issues and historical traumas that South Korean society has yet to fully resolve. Just in case you're not familiar with them, I highlight a few. Definitely check the series out and see if you are as moved as I was by this "thriller". It turns out Korean society sends more chills up your spine and perhaps the real horror doesn't come from zombies. It comes from real-life people.
