The Secret Swanky Lives of a Korean Politician and His Wife

Liberal presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung and his wife rapidly rose as a political power couple as a husband and wife who stayed true to their 'dirt spoon' roots. However, it turns out that increasing amounts of evidence point to a champagne lifestyle that they've funded by fleecing the taxpayer. Some of the purchases of premium meat, fresh fruit and even hormone pills involve elaborate rouses to maximize funds that come from the taxpayer.

Turns out the political power couple, Lee Jae-myung and his wife, have been faking their image of living a humble life close to their working class roots. Using her husband's government-issued credit card, Kim Hye-gyoung (wives keep their maiden names in Korea) had two government employees make sure her husband's Hermes aftershave was always stocked in the bathroom, spent $70,000 at one fruit store, and kept a luxury car for her personal use (owned by the government) among many many other rich lady antics. The only thing is that taxpayers paid for all of this.

Is this a government version of Bernie Madoff? When Lee Jae-myung campaigned as the Bernie Sanders of Korea, perhaps he got the last name mixed up.

Should such a 'power couple' be given carte blanche to corrupt the entire South Korean value chain for their own benefit? Haven't we moved on from the system of kings and queens in order to honor man's individual freedoms?
