NEW JEANS SISTER Olivia Marsh Denies PLAGIARISM of 'Backseat'
Another plagiarism scandal has hit the New Jeans world. This time Olivia Marsh, elder sister to New Jeans member Danielle is being accused of plagiarizing her song 'Backseat'. Side by side, the beats, tune, tempo and vibe are strikingly similar to indie artist Isaac Dunbar's 'Onion Boy'.
However, Marsh's label, Mplify, says that 'similarities' is all it is. After what seemed to be a transparent admission of guilt, Marsh's team walked back its initial statement with the clarification that there was no plagiarism.
Take a listen for yourself. This seems to be a slam dunk. If there was no plagiarism, then why did Marsh add Dunbar to the list of songwriters and negotiate an agreement?
