The Best Presidential Debate Format I've Ever Seen

After months of delays, the first presidential debate of the 2022 South Korean Presidential Election simultaneously aired on the nation's three major networks. In a revolutionary concept, the candidates themselves were responsible for questioning each other. Each was allotted five minutes per each debate topic section. They were free to use the time to answer, ask or grandstand - whatever they wanted!

This debate format was a genius solution to get the best answers out of the candidates while avoiding the behind-the-scenes DRAMA of typical TV debates where the questions and answers get WATERED DOWN after all the campaign camps and media execs are exhausted from fighting even before the filming begins. It seemed to be the result of a truly scrappy way to avoid the blame game in a dysfunctional Korean political environment. Plus, the debate seemed to borrow gamification techniques from Korea's gaming industry. Therefore, I believe this truly does deserve the moniker of a 'K-DEBATE FORMAT'. Export this out to the rest of the world, Korea!
